The subdudes' latest studio CD, "Flower Petals," is now available for pre-ordering via Biographica, the company that put out last year's subdudes DVD. The subdudes hope all fans will take advantage of this chance to buy the CD online - today!
The CD is officially released on August 25, and fans should have their copy within a day or so after that.
You can order the CD by visiting thesubdudesstore.com. The band receives a significant percentage from the sale of CDs via this site -- as opposed to virtually nothing from sales via Amazon.com, iTunes, Wal-Mart, etc. You can also order the CD via our merchandise page [which links to the items offered Biographica].

The band is paying Biographica a modest cut for hosting the online store. Eventually, the band hopes to set up its own order fulfillment operation. When you visit the subdudes' store, you can also pick up a copy of the Live at the Ram's Head 2-disc live CD, the all-acoustic "bootleg" audio CD or the DVD from the Ram's Head.
The bottom line, of course, is that the band hopes everyone will purchase a copy of the CD -- whether it's through Biographica or whoever. Sales through other outlets do help in the long run, of course. A rise in the overall numbers helps ensure the guys are offered the chance to record later CDs.
The band expects to expand the offerings that are available through the online store, including a new poster based on the CD artwork.

this is a WONDERFUL CD. i have played it nonstop and everyone who heard has asked where to get it.
the last "concept album" (yes, album) that moved me like this was Wilie Nelson's "redheaded stranger". like that masterpiece, this one tells a story with novelistic connections between the songs and the points of view, but the songs stand on their own, without the added layer of meaning the story concept adds. in fact, it has been interesting to listen to them out of order - they all work. and like earlier songs, their social justice point of view is lightly sung, not preached.
Musically, this is real, mature wonderful stuff. the melodies of "Flower Petals" and the instrumental "nightshade", the sadness and lyricism of "barley in the silo" and the exhilirating 'redemption dance' - songs not like anyone else's, like their best earlier work - this is just a gift for people with ears.
thanks, dudes!
Yesterday I got the new cd and what a wonderful album. The title song is absolutely one of the best songs of the "dudes" The band is playing wonderful and the singing is so good. I haven't seen the band live (only on DVD) because I am living in Holland and as far as I know, they were not here. But now I have another great album of the band.
Thanks for the wonderful music,
greetings and peace
Carlo from Holland
