Thanks to the Dudes for Auction Items!!

Hi all! Just wanted to say THANKS to our (as always) generous Dudes. Sunday February 21st, there was a Benefit at a club here in Denver called Herman's Hideaway for our dear friend and longtime Bartender at Herman's, Sherri Rossi. (lovinsherrirossi.blogspot.com) She has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and we all wanted to show our love for her. There was an awesome lineup of local musicians (and yours truly participated as well) and of course, the Dudes graciously gave. I believe Tim was the point person who worked with the Benefit Coordinator.

They donated a beautiful lithograph signed by all of them, (didn't bid on that-thought I'd leave it for someone else to start their collection!) and a package ALL of their CD's! (except Flower Petals). Their first CD was broken out of the bunch as a separate auction item, though. Well, since there were several of the older ones that I didn't have, I started a bidding war (with none other than Brian Nevin-the drummer for Big Head Todd and the Monsters!) and was NOT going to be outbid! We were having a blast, though...he's a friend, so, he graciously decided to not outbid me when he realized I REALLY wanted the CD's. The great thing is when I went and picked up my items a week later, the person who bid on the first CD declined to pay for it, so I bought that one too!! I promptly went home and had an all-evening Subdudes listening party!! I'm so happy! I know they would have been there if they could, so to donate not one, but THREE items was awesome! If any of the fellas are reading, Sheri sends her love to you (I spoke with her not long ago). Thanks again, guys!!

Hey Erica - Good to hear from you! Yep- how accessible our guys are to their fans. It's what sets them apart as really great people . I just love that about them. I wish that I lived closer and could have been there too for what was probably a great night of music. I dont know Big Head Todds music, but my husband likes them. I'm wondering if we might see you at J.F. this year? Dont know if you're planning on attending at all, but wuld love to hook up and meet you if you'll be there. As we get close to the fest, I'll be posting and trying to coordinate some sort of meet up for all of us that are attending- so stay tuned.
CONGRATULATIONS on your complete collection of all subdudes! That'll take you through anything that life will throw at you, be it good or bad! Sounds like Todd is a good friend. That's what friends do for one and other! I've got to get my hands on one of your cds. How would I go about doing so?

I just mentioneed seeing the dudes in Portland Maine in 2006 on the Song of the day thread -- I left that show at last note to rush an hour south to see BHT (Big Head Todd & the Monsters). They are great guys -- knew 'em when they played the Dark Horse in Boulder for free on Wednesday nights.

Patti! Send me a PM and we'll figure out how to get my CDs to you! They are out of print now, and I'll have to make a copy of the 2nd one for you, it won't be an original, but the first one will be. And YES! I am soooo excited to finally have ALL their music! (and they're not bootlegs!!) And jktredrox...the Dark Horse...spent many hours in that place! Some hours I remember, some I don't The BHTM guys are super-cool too...love them!!...E

Oh, and about JF...not sure if I could make it...but I'd love to go!! If I went down there though, I'd prolly wait and go to the May 1 show with the guys and Tab Benoit...talk about a GOOD TIME!!! Tab will be here later this month-mebbe I'll talk to him about it...what fun that would be!...E
